Summber 2009/2010
New Products = New Stamp
During the past 6 years we have been working hard to refurbish the old Cray Drop Inn and now we think it's time for a new logo to reflect the changes we have made and where we are headed.
Whilst retaining the original business icons of farming, fishing and family holidays we are building our brand by also creating a food and wine destination.
Ironhouse Point has always been synonymous with fresh seafood but in addition to this we want to create the beverages to serve with your catch!
Hence, the installation of the brewery 2 years ago, and now the planting of a vineyard on the western side of the property.
We are so pleased that on the eve of Ironhouse Brewery's 2nd Birthday we are able to report that our beers have been widely accepted (with awards to prove it!) and sales continue to grow.
We hope to replicate the brewery's success with our vineyard and in 6 years time be reporting on medal winning wines!
With our business entities growing in number we are certainly looking forward to the opening of our new multipurpose building.
With building delays due to steel work and weather we hope to be in the new building — next year during low season, which will allow us to settle in before the high season rush.
The new building will incorporate all the existing infrastructure such as reception and brewery. It will also allow us to cater to all tastes, styles and budgets by offering two eateries La Blanc Fine Dining and the Brewhaus Cafe and Bar.
We envisage that La Blanc Fine Dining will replicate our current restaurant structure while the Brewhaus Cafe and Bar will offer lighter meal options all day. It will also have a cosy and relaxed bar area.
The new building also enables us to cater for larger conferences with specialised conference rooms and cinema.
We will also be launching a store called, Providore, which as the name suggests will stock all our own produce plus an array of Tasmanian only goodies. Designed to meet both the locals and tourist needs.
With all that said, we have trusted Walker Designs to design a logo as seen above that reflects the feel and colours of our environment. We hope that you share our delight in the new reflection of our business. To everyone who has supported us in our endeavours so-far we thank you and look forward to working with you or serving you in the future.
Refurbishment = New Opportunities
Whilst the demands for wheelchair accessible accommodation has always been high, we have only had the opportunity in the past 3 months to work towards meeting the demand to the high standards that it requires.
We are in the process of completing the renovations on Unit 19 which has transformed it into a Deluxe wheelchair accessible self-contained villa. Not only is it highly accessible, but it also has the added bonus of the possibility of a king size bed!
While the main bedroom will have a queen size bed, the 2nd bedroom will have two long singles that can be zipped together to make a king size bed, therefore catering for families and 2 couples.
Christmas Cheer
As with every Christmas, although we have in-house accommodation guests staying with us on the Christmas Day, we actually close reception and the restaurant so that our staff are able to spend this special day with their own loved ones.
In lieu of a Christmas Day lunch we will be offering our guests to pre-order one of our delectable seafood or cold meat Christmas platters to be delivered to their units. Plus, on Christmas Eve we will be offering traditional Christmas meals from $35 pp for two courses.
If you would like to place an order or book a table please call 63 722 228 by the 18th of December.

Our handcrafted brews are made to traditional recipes from quality ingredients and Tasmanian water, sourced from our own spring.
Our brews are refreshingly unpasteurised and have no preservatives or additives.
Located at White Sands Estate, Ironhouse point; The first house on the east coast with an iron roof was situated on this coastal point on the beautiful east coast. The landmark is synonymous with farming, fishing, beach holidays and surfing.
Water, mountains and forest surround us and together with the locations history they provide us with the inspiration to continue the legacy of endeavour, enhancement and the will to share with you our natural attributes.
